Pediatric dentists have completed at least:
- Four years of dental school, plus
- Two additional years of specialized training in dentistry for infants, children, teens, and children with special needs
Part of the coursework includes education in child development and psychology as well as treatment of patients with special health care needs, language development and language disorders. Pediatric dentists are trained to examine and treat children to enhance their comfort and trust. In addition, pediatric dentists use special equipment adapted to children and their offices are designed and decorated to help children feel at ease during the appointment.
A pediatric dentist offers a wide range of treatment options, as well as expertise and training to care for your child’s teeth, gums, and mouth.

All of the staff at our office are here to serve you, the parents, as much as we serve your children. You’ll see this demonstrated in our attention to the details—our willingness to take the time to explain the procedures to you, to help you navigate the insurance process, and, whenever possible, to accommodate your scheduling needs. We realize how very busy parents are today because we’re parents, too. So, our staff is here to make your dentist visit a smooth and comfortable one.
